Top-Selling Natural Brand Achieves Science-Backed Environmental and Consumer Safety Verification for its Organic and Fair Trade Personal Care Products

TAIPEI, TAIWAN – Dr. Bronner’s, the top-selling natural brand of soap in North America and a leading brand worldwide, is proud to announce its partnership with the Environmental Working Group (EWG), a non-partisan environmental and consumer safety research organization seeking to drive the creation of healthier and safer products. More than 30 of Dr. Bronner’s products have officially been EWG VERIFIED™ in Taiwan.

EWG’s science-backed resource, the Skin Deep® Database, rates the safety of ingredients in personal care, and beauty products based on the best publicly available information in a simple to understand rating system, identifying potential hazards and health concerns. To qualify for the EWG VERIFIED® program, a product must score a 1 or 2 in EWG’s Skin Deep® database. The EWG VERIFIED mark on a product designates that the brand has taken extra steps in providing transparency to EWG’s scientists to verify the safety of product ingredients.

Under the leadership of Michael Bronner and his brother, David Bronner, CEO, Dr. Bronner’s established itself as a sustainable leader in the natural products industry by becoming one of the first body care brands to certify its soaps, lotions, balms, and other personal care products under the rigorous food standard of the USDA National Organic Program in 2003.  This paved the way for Dr. Bronner’s to co-found the Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC) standard in 2017 with Rodale Institute and Patagonia. The ROC is an integrated and comprehensive program based on the highest standards for soil health, animal welfare, and fair labor practices with the goal of advancing sustainable and ecological alternatives to industrial agriculture.

Fair Trade

Since 2008, Dr. Bronner’s has been certified Fair Trade for all major raw materials (representing over 95% of annual agricultural volume) by the respected Swiss Certifier IMO. No Animal Testing and Vegan

Dr. Bronner’s qualifies for the rabbit and stars logo of the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC). This logo certifies that the product and its ingredients are not tested on animals. The CCIC, a coalition of animal rights organizations, requires independent audit for confirmation.
