ShoppingGives! Support Agriculture and Food Systems that put People and Planet First!

This spring, Dr. Bronner’s webstore customers can direct 10% of their purchase amount to organizations that support food chain workers and regenerative organic farmers across the country. We rely on these essential workers for our daily nourishment, and it’s time we gave back. Here’s how you can participate in Dr. Bronner’s giving—at no extra cost to you. Just select an organization in the “You Shop – We Give” section of the webstore when shopping for your favorite soaps, body care, and coconut oil, and we’ll make the donation on your behalf!

Here’s a bit more about the nonprofits we’re featuring this spring:

HEAL Food Alliance

Founded in 2017 by the Food Chain Workers Alliance, National Black Food and Justice Alliance, Real Food Generation, and the Union of Concerned Scientists, HEAL is a national multi-sector, multi-racial coalition of 55 organizations. HEAL is led by their members, who represent over two million rural and urban farmers, ranchers, fishers, farm and food chain workers, indigenous groups, scientists, public health advocates, policy experts, community organizers, and activists. Together, these groups are building a movement to transform our food and farm systems from the current extractive economic model towards community control, care for the land, local economies, meaningful labor, and healthful communities nationwide, while supporting the sovereignty of all living beings.

Regenerative Organic Alliance

The Regenerative Organic Certifiedstandard, aka ROC, was created to address many of today’s pressing problems—including  factory farming, fractured rural economies, and the climate crisis—through the potential of regenerative organic agriculture. Industrial agriculture and factory farming of animals are top contributors to climate change. In turn, climate change is making it harder to farm. Our conventional farming system has degraded the soil to dangerous levels around the world. Farmers and farmworkers are too often exploited, and rural economies in the U.S. and around the world are suffering. We need to make clear, calculated changes to our food and fiber systems and make regenerative organic the new model. If we adopt regenerative organic practices on more farms, we’ll see improvements to soil health, the wellbeing of animals, farmers, workers, and the climate itself. Consumers who are not intimately connected to farming—but interested in making a positive impact with their purchases—need a way to verify that a product is responsible and ethical. Faced with dozens of labels in the grocery aisle, consumers can look for the ROC seal and instantly feel good about what they’re buying.

Sun+Earth Certified

Sun+Earth Certified is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization working to build a truly green cannabis marketplace that honors family owned farms that grow food and medicine under the sun and in the soil. Contributions to Sun+Earth will allow them to invest in scholarships for farms to complete the certification process and receive technical support and mentoring. Donations will also be used to recruit and support more BIPOC-led farms and manufacturers while expanding our dispensary outreach program to increase public access to Sun+Earth Certified products. Sun+Earth certifies that cannabis brands are holistically, responsibly, and regeneratively grown for the well-being of all people, farmers, and the planet. Sun+Earth sets the standard above and beyond organic.
