Food system advocacy:

David Bronner is Cosmic Engagement Officer (CEO) of Dr. Bronner’s, the top-selling brand of natural soaps in North America and producer of a range of organic body care and food products. The brand has grown from $4 million in 1998 to nearly $170 million in annual revenue in 2022.  David established Dr. Bronner’s as a sustainable leader in the natural products industry by becoming one of the first body care brands to certify products under the USDA National Organic Program in 2003. David then led Dr. Bronner’s to creating a certified fair trade supply chain for all major ingredients in 2006.

In 2017 David led Dr. Bronner’s in co-founding the standard for Regenerative Organic Certification along with Patagonia and the Rodale Institute to encompass the highest bar soil health, animal welfare, and fair labor standards in one program—in the interest of growing a truly sustainable and ecological alternative to industrial agriculture. David continues to serve on the board of the Regenerative Organic Alliance, to promote regenerative organic agriculture and ethical dietary choice, for a more humane, sustainable, and fair farming system worldwide.
